Community Organizations

Discuss neighbourhood issues
Advocate for local improvements
Share information with city officials
Strengthen community connections
Membership is open to all Queensborough residents. Meetings are a great way to meet your neighbours and get your voice heard.
Queensborough Special Programs Committee (QSPC): Organizes community events like the Children’s Festival, Summer Block Party, etc. QSPC relies on community volunteers and support to bring events to life. A great way to contribute and celebrate local diversity!
The Port Royal Community Garden (PRCG) is a non-profit organization offering residents a chance to grow their own fruit, vegetables, herbs, and flowers in a pesticide-free environment. Established in 1998 as the city’s first community garden, PRCG has expanded to 78 plots, including two communal beds that support local food banks. With scenic walkways connecting to parks and the Fraser River, the garden is a hub for sustainable living, community connection, and environmental stewardship. Members meet quarterly to plan events, share knowledge, and nurture a greener future together.
If you are interested in joining the waitlist and becoming a member of PRCG, check out their website for more details.
QCC Needle Craft Group: A crafty group, aged 19-90. They knit, crochet, tat and do other yarn crafts. Bring your own project or work on one of theirs. They are a social group who love to chat while crafting. This group does not teach, but if you know the basics, they will share some experience and knowledge. They use donated yarn and supplies to create items to support QCC Special Programs and to donate to local charities.

Roma Hall & The Italian Mutual Aid Society: Founded in 1929 by 27 families, the IMAS aimed to assist Italian immigrants in settling and integrating into their new environment in Queensborough. They often look for volunteers for their events.
